“This magnificent lake is approximately seven miles long
and three miles wide with 21 miles of shoreline surrounded by 29,000
acres of marshes, swamps and cypress forests. It’s a place of complete
surrender to Mother Nature as blue skies give way to blue-hued water
which some say occur because of the reflection of the Blue Cypress trees
on the lake as the morning sun rises into the sky. The lake is also a
top Osprey nesting site reporting over 200 nests along the shoreline.
Kayaking and canoeing up close to see Osprey nests in the wild and to
marvel at the 130-foot tall cypress trees make this worth a trip. Blue
Cypress Lake becomes an outdoor Shangri-La.”

The pontoon seats 6 passengers and is $150 an hour.
There are two boats reserved. The individual price will be determined by
who attends this event. If we can fill a boat, it will be $25. Please
bring water, insect repellent, hats, sunblock, snack, and binoculars.

Those who opt to paddle must furnish own canoe or kayak.

There is no place along the banks to stop on, so snacks and rest break will take place inside the kayak.

The address is 7400 Blue Cypress Lake Road, FL

Blue Cypress Lake is just off FL State Road 60 on Blue
Cypress Lake Road, about 25 miles west of the I-95 Vero Beach exit; and
about 7 miles east of the Florida Turnpike Yeehaw Junction exit. We are
about 1½ hours from Orlando.
Blue Cypress Lake is the headwaters of the St. John’s River that runs north and out through Jacksonville.

To RSVP see: https://www.meetup.com/TurtleCoast-Sierra-Club/

Doughttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17226735824445010559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2495820719483195410.post-26865671034491861012019-06-10T13:14:00.000-04:002020-01-31T11:18:33.851-05:00Turtle Coast Group WebsiteCheck out our website at:
